Been loving & intrigued by the very hipster billboards & bus stop ads of a dog or cat photo & the letters “NKLA” - no slogan, no website.
So if you were wondering like me what these ads were for… NKLA stands for “No Kill LA”. It is a movement and group of individuals and organizations working to make Los Angeles a No-Kill city for animals that are waiting to be adopted.
The Problem: “Last year, over 56,000 dogs and cats entered Los Angeles city shelters. More than 17,000 beautiful, healthy or treatable shelter pets were killed.”
NKLA is working towards making that number 0.

“It’s hard to look back on some parts of human history because when we heard about injustice, we cared but we didn’t know what to do - too often we did nothing but if we are going to change that, we have to start somewhere.”
